Hello my name is Eric and i am 14 years old. I am a rising freshmen and I live in Long Island, NY. I go to PJ Gelinas Junior High School. I am still in junior high even though 9th grade would be considered high school. I have an interest in many science topics but my favorite is Biology. The main reason I take interest in Biology is because my father works in the medical field that uses biology to manipulate genes and treat cancer, and I find that very interesting.
In school, my favorite subject is science. The only subject in science I despise of is Earth Science, which is very boring. The science subjects that seem interesting to me is Biology and Physics. I do science olympiad in my school, and our school, Gelinas, placed 10th in Nationals and 1st in New York. Although my only in science olympiad event was fossils last year, I plan on expanding my interests into more biological oriented subjects.
For extracurricular activities, I like to play tennis daily and I play violin and a little piano. For violin, I play Chamber Orchestra for my school and I play in the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra in New York. For tennis, I play in a lot of tennis tournaments all over Long Island almost every weekend. In the future, I plan on going to medical school and becoming a Surgeon. I hope that this camp teaches me more about biology so that i have some background on the subject when i take it next year in 9th grade.
